Babies and Bubbles

We love bubble baths at our house. The best part is that mom and dads giant tub (aka: swimming pool) has jets and when jets are turned on, bubbles happen. LOTS of bubbles.
I feel like the bubbles on his head made him feel confused.
I'm not really sure how this came to be but I'm fairly certain that AnDee is trying to bubble baptize Pep in this picture..... The question is, is there a body under Peps head? Its a mystery and just a weird picture all around.
A couple of entertaining stories for you:
(Disclaimer: I know Im a bad mom. There is no need to tell me this. If you desire to hear what makes me such a bad mom, continue reading. If not, please stop now)
Andrew was gone, at an overnighter or something of that sort. I had selfishly played a soccer game that evening so we were getting home right at bed time and my kids were nasty and needed baths. The animals hadn't been fed and so I was in a hurry to get everything done at once so my kids wouldn't get over tired and turn in to little devils.  Being the horrible mother I am, I just filled up the tub a few inches and left AnDee in charge of keeping Pep safe while I went out to feed the animals. A very short time in to my feeding efforts I heard screaming. Full on terrorized screaming coming from my back door. (for those of you who haven't been to our house, we have a very large back yard. Its almost an acre and it takes up the center of our entire block. Meaning that every backyard on the block connects with our back yard) I was at the very back of the property where the animals are. Pep was the first to reach me. Completely naked and dripping wet. Still hysterically crying. "Mama! Sprinklers get me!" It took me a minute but I finally came to the conclusion that some how they had turned the shower on and it scared them so they came running to me. Then AnDee arrived (completely naked, dripping wet and crying as well) and so I asked. "Did you guys turn the show on?" She thought for just a minute and told me yes, that was what happened, the shower was on and it sprayed them which is obviously frightening so they came for help. This didn't seem like such a big deal to me so I just continued doing what I was doing. (with my two naked children in tow for all the neighborhood to see) I finished feeding the animals. About 5 minutes later I followed the tiny little wet foot prints through the house and finally reached the bathroom. Shower? No. They had turned the jets on. This normally wouldn't be a big deal except that the water was only deep enough to cover the intake...not high enough to cover the jets. It was sucking the water in and shooting it out EVERY WHERE. We are talking water being launched on to the mirrors, counter tops, towel racks and of course all over the toilet. The floor had a good inch of water pooled up. The good news is that my bathroom got a really good cleaning.

Story number 2. (more of a conversation than story)
I was putting on Peps swim shorts and apparently his little manhood got stuck in the wrong position
Pep: "Mom! Tail!!!"
As a true mother I automatically ingnore him. My thoughts in other places
Pep: "Mom! Tail tuck (stuck) UP!!"
AnDee chimes in: "Pep, you don't have a tail. (in a very snobbish tone) Its called a winky wink!"
I'm still trying to figure out where the winky wink thing came from. I mean the tail thing kind of makes sense. If you really think about it you can see why he would call it that. Regardless though... We now have some pretty sweet alternative names.

The Boy and His Sunglasses

When Pep joined AnDee on the dentist chair they promised the two of them a prize. They opened a giant chest of treasures and Pep grabbed these wicked blue flowered sunglasses...
And in no time he was attached. He even sleeps in them occasionally. And when I say he sleeps in them I don't mean that he wears them as he is going to bed. I mean he still has them on when he wakes up. Seems uncomfortable to me but whatever floats his boat I guess.
He has also been really weird about wearing his flip flops. He wants to wear them ALWAYS. We fight about it often. He wants to wear them in the tub and to bed and to church. Anywhere anytime.

In other news about the boy... Have you ever been to Sportsmans Warehouse in Provo?  Well Pep took a special trip with Dad to Sportsmans. On the way in there is a bronze statue of an elk. Pep wanted to ride the elk... it was 104 degrees outside and apparently 104 degrees outside makes a bronze elk exactly 9000 degrees.
It blistered pretty good and got a little nasty for a couple days (its hard to keep a wound clean while camping) but he was such a trooper. He hardly complained and they are healed completely now. He may have a couple of scares left  over but that's ok cause chicks digs scares, right?

The Girl goes to the Dentist

That's right! The girl went to the Dentist for the fist time ever! She was a little shy and nervous at first but the girls in the office were SO nice it wasn't long before she was on board with everything they asked her to do. She even let her little brother join in on the fun! She is such a good big sister.

Sadly the "sugar bugs" got to some of her teeth and she has a few cavities. We get to go back later this week and fix them! Hopefully she will remember how cool the dentist can be and comply. I mean really... not many dentist offices have tree houses as cool as this...

Strawberry Days

Pep was sick. He had a fever and was just off in general. We took the trailer up to Pam's (because there is no room in their house for us) and had planned on staying all weekend starting Thursday. We went to the rodeo that night but the poor boy was just out of it. He was burning up and just not having fun. We lasted about an hour before we decided to let him go back to home base and rest. Lucky for AnDee, Pam and Steve were there and so she got to stay for the whole thing! It was such a late night.  Fortunately despite being sick, Pep slept all night and so did the other two. Unfortunately I dont sleep well with sprinklers spraying directly in to the side of the trailer and dogs barking all night. We got up on Friday and met up with Dyl and Aunt Amber and her kids for Huck Finn day. We decided not to fish since we go fishing every friday as a family and just went straight to the games and other fun things. Andee got a rainbow painted on her cheek by one of the "cowgirl princess'" and ran around with her cousins and Dyl. But poor Pep boy just sat in the stroller. He never complained, just didnt have much interest in anything. He did however get a little more interested when they opened up the pond and let the kids go crazy.
We decided that it wasnt worth keeping the poor boy up in a trailer just to go to the parade (which if we are being honest is just a big long line of walking advertisements) And came home early.
It was good but could have been a lot more fun had we all been healthy. We will keep our fingers crossed for next year.

I mostly just posted this next picture because I enjoy Peps tongue and the confused look on AnDee's face.

Andrew was literally pouring strawberries and cream down the kids throat as he fell asleep. It was at this point that I decided we had tortured him enough.

Ike Renzo Baby (As Pep would call him)

This boy is the light of our little household. He loves everyone and everyone loves him. He is happy and smiley and giggle 98% of the time that he is awake and eating the rest of the time.

I take full advantage of nap time because it is the only time that I get to be with him. Just him.  Hold him and cuddle him. However he has got to the point that he no longer wants to be held whilst sleeping and so when he starts to get sleepy I have to put him down, much to my dismay.
The  other day he had been sleeping and I walked in to the quiet room thinking that is how I would find him. Nope I came in to this cute little picture. Eyes peeking out and legs crossed. Not even making a sound.

We started giving him a little bit of solid food a couple of weeks ago. He gets a couple of tablespoons of sweet potatoes everyday. I'm not gonna lie... he isn't a huge fan. Its not that he hates it but he just doesn't really care for it.  Maybe we should try a new food? Or maybe he is a milk only kind of guy.
He is so close to rolling over but just hasnt quite gotten there yet. He isnt overly interested in that either though so it could be a while on that too. He is happy to just lay there and talk... and drool. He is an extreme drooler and Im not sure why. No teeth seem to be on their way but he soaks everything I put on him.
He loves to stand
 and plank
 and levitate??
and give people the stink eye

We took him to his first professional soccer game a couple of weeks ago. It was kind of a big deal seeing as it was a world cup qualifier. USA vs Honduras. USA won of course ;)

And he got his first supporter scarf! Next it will be an RSL game and then, one day we will head to a Barcelona game... one day.

Fathers Day Hike (aka fun with goats)

A while back we woke up to the sound of mooing. When we went outside to see what it was we were greeted with this...
A full on, real life, cattle drive right up our road! Complete with cowboys and heard dogs! We had a big talk about how they were taking the cows from the pastures down here up the canyon so they could eat all the good food up there all summer long. My kids were dying to go see the cows in the canyon. And so, on Fathers Day we went for a family hike (goats included) to check Daddy's trail cam.

AnDee gets to ride. She is big enough now that we just slap her on and let them go. That really is the cool thing about our goat friends... no lead rope required. We walk, they follow. Simple as that. AnDee has gotten good enough that we trust her to take care of herself and her best goat friend Daisy  and she does an awesome job!

 Daddy is Pep's goat...
Pretty soon he will be big enough to ride on his own too!
It really was a fun little hike and we got to look at all the pictures of the deer on Daddy's camera. And after much anticipation we got to see our cow friends enjoying the delicious mountain grass!
