Ike Renzo Baby (As Pep would call him)

This boy is the light of our little household. He loves everyone and everyone loves him. He is happy and smiley and giggle 98% of the time that he is awake and eating the rest of the time.

I take full advantage of nap time because it is the only time that I get to be with him. Just him.  Hold him and cuddle him. However he has got to the point that he no longer wants to be held whilst sleeping and so when he starts to get sleepy I have to put him down, much to my dismay.
The  other day he had been sleeping and I walked in to the quiet room thinking that is how I would find him. Nope I came in to this cute little picture. Eyes peeking out and legs crossed. Not even making a sound.

We started giving him a little bit of solid food a couple of weeks ago. He gets a couple of tablespoons of sweet potatoes everyday. I'm not gonna lie... he isn't a huge fan. Its not that he hates it but he just doesn't really care for it.  Maybe we should try a new food? Or maybe he is a milk only kind of guy.
He is so close to rolling over but just hasnt quite gotten there yet. He isnt overly interested in that either though so it could be a while on that too. He is happy to just lay there and talk... and drool. He is an extreme drooler and Im not sure why. No teeth seem to be on their way but he soaks everything I put on him.
He loves to stand
 and plank
 and levitate??
and give people the stink eye

We took him to his first professional soccer game a couple of weeks ago. It was kind of a big deal seeing as it was a world cup qualifier. USA vs Honduras. USA won of course ;)

And he got his first supporter scarf! Next it will be an RSL game and then, one day we will head to a Barcelona game... one day.

Fathers Day Hike (aka fun with goats)

A while back we woke up to the sound of mooing. When we went outside to see what it was we were greeted with this...
A full on, real life, cattle drive right up our road! Complete with cowboys and heard dogs! We had a big talk about how they were taking the cows from the pastures down here up the canyon so they could eat all the good food up there all summer long. My kids were dying to go see the cows in the canyon. And so, on Fathers Day we went for a family hike (goats included) to check Daddy's trail cam.

AnDee gets to ride. She is big enough now that we just slap her on and let them go. That really is the cool thing about our goat friends... no lead rope required. We walk, they follow. Simple as that. AnDee has gotten good enough that we trust her to take care of herself and her best goat friend Daisy  and she does an awesome job!

 Daddy is Pep's goat...
Pretty soon he will be big enough to ride on his own too!
It really was a fun little hike and we got to look at all the pictures of the deer on Daddy's camera. And after much anticipation we got to see our cow friends enjoying the delicious mountain grass!

Meet Kevin

This is Pep's best friend...

Well maybe not his BEST friend but he is definitely the most talked about friend. Kevin lives down the road from Grandma Pam and Pep visits him every time we go to Grandma's. Kevin is large... very large and enjoys our left over food. So remember how I said we had way too much food at AnDee's birthday party? Well Kevin helped us finish it off. We took a walk with Whit, Dyl and Wyatt to see Kevin and feed him our left overs. (no we did not feed him the left over roasted pig but I have no doubt that he would have eaten it. Kevin seems like the cannibalistic type to me)
P.S. once again my phone pics are doing the weird squishy thing. Sorry?

The Ikester

This boy is getting HUGE! I have no idea how much he weighs but he is getting hefty and hard to lug around all the time. (I say "all the time" but the truth is that he sits on his own way too often.) We tried some oatmeal serial yesterday. He is almost 4 month so I thought we would give it a shot. Fail. He just spit it all right back out. He really doesn't show any interest in big people food yet so I guess I should just be patient but Im ready for him to spread out his feedings a little if you know what I mean.   Its good though, feeding time is generally the only time that I get to just be with him. And even then its rare if the other two monsters aren't right there being crazy and distracting while he is trying to eat.

He started playing in his bouncer a couple of weeks ago and he loves it. Aunt Gayle found him one of those exersaucers or whatever they call them and he loves to spin around and play with all the toys.  He still loves to stand and show off his muscles but he refuses to roll over. Doesn't even try. He is like his brother in that way. Pep didn't roll over until he was 5 months old. He was completely content to just lay there and so is Ike.

This is about as much action as we get during tummy time...

He is the sweetest baby and he never really fusses unless he is hungry. If he actually gets to a cry we all panic cause its so rare and you know something is really wrong.

apparently he had dry lips???...

He does have some weird skin stuff going on lately though. He will just randomly break out in rashes and looks SO miserable. Makes me feel bad but he is (as always) super patient about it.

He is such a talker and loves to laugh because he loves that it makes other people laugh.
I have decided that Heavenly Father purposely sent Ike as my third child because if I had a fussy baby for my 3rd I would more than likely lose my mind. He is the best and I love to just snuggle the little squish!

One GIANT Post aAbout One SPOILED Birthday Girl

The girl is 4. Sad but true. It shouldn't be so hard for me that my kids are growing up but it is. Its scary to be honest. AnDee is incredible. She is sweet and oh so helpful. She takes care of her brothers and can be quite bossy. I love her little kid humor and when she bursts into giggly fits. She is smart but stubborn and is definitely her own person. I love that she is so comfortable with who she is. When I was growing up I was a "tom boy" and I was so determined to be a tom boy that I didn't allow myself to be girly in any way. It was like I felt as if I were to wear the color pink or play with a doll I would lose my tom boy label or something. AnDee is so confidant no matter what hat she is wearing. She is EXTREMELY girly and always wants to be dressed up and loves to wear make up and jewelry but in the same breath she rocks the socks off of everyone when she is playing soccer or doing some extremely dangerous trick on the trampoline or climbing way too high in the trees. (when I say way to high I literally mean it. She climbs WAY too high) She can wear a princess dress and dig for worms at the same time and it makes perfect sense to her. I hope she stays that way.
Her soccer season ended last week. Sad but I think she is ready to move on. She decided that scoring goals, while fun, was not a her cup of tea. She followed in her moms footsteps and took to defending quite nicely. So nicely in fact that no one scored... ever because AnDee would run from goal to goal blocking every shot that came at her. The trouble was that she was actually fast enough to block one shot and then run all the way to the other goal before the kids could get down there to shoot on the other side. It was hilarious and I enjoyed every minute of watching her play. Although I do have to shamefully admit that in the beginning I was a little to in to it and made her cry a couple of times. Not because I was yelling at her or anything mean like that but because I would coach her and she felt like she was failing when she couldn't do exactly what I said. So we came to an agreement that she wouldn't ever cry at soccer again if I would just sit in the stands and be quiet.... and I did for the rest of the season. I only gave her an occasional thumbs up and let her Grandma Pam and Dad do the cheering. :)
When we asked AnDee what she wanted to do for her birthday, it was a toss up. Go fishing or to the dinosaur museum??? And so we decided that if the weather was nice we would go fishing and if it was cold we would go to the museum. The day turned out nice and warm and so we picked up some pizza hut (after a morning of shopping at toys r us with the money she got from Nanny and Poppy) and went to spring lake, just a few minutes from our house. Unfortunately we didn't get so much as a bite but on the flip side there were ducks and geese every where and we even got to see a muskrat swimming around. I think next time we will have to make a day of it and actually go up the canyon for some real fishing.

For her birthday party she wanted to roast a pig. (no seriously, thats what she wanted) It seemed a little overkill so we decided to make it a birthday party/summer kick off party and invited a lot of mom and dad's friends as well as AnDee's. We made it a luau theme. Grandma Pam made AnDee a cute little Hawaiian-like dress and Mom scored big time at the dollar store with leis and grass skirts as well as some killer decorations. Dad roasted the pig and we had TONS of food, friends, water games and volleyball. SO MUCH FUN!

We talked for weeks about what she wanted for her birthday. There were two things... a princess dress and a fishing pole (in true AnDee fashion) and so thats what she got. The biggest, most sparkly pink dress you've ever seen on a 4 year old and a pink fishing pole. When she opened her presents at Grandmas house I didn't have my camera and there she was sitting on the rocking chair in this huge pink dress, holding her fishing pole. I made the comment that I needed a picture of that and it stuck in her little head. She wanted a photo shoot. So this morning much to her delight I broke out the camera and we had one heck of a photo shoot. She got quite creative with it as you will see from the pics.

We sure love this girl! She has changed her mom and dad so much and every ounce of that change has been for the better. We are so grateful our Father in Heaven sent her to us when he did. She couldn't have come at a better time... 4 years ago.
