Happy Happy Birthday!

The boy is one... why does this make me sad? Lucky for me he is still a cuddly little fellow and is quite content to be a baby for a little longer... which makes me happy!
We got all the Grandmas and Grandpas together along with Uncle Stevie and Sierra and had some cake and ice cream and opened presents. Nothing real big but the boy is very low maintenance so he was happy with it. First we opened presents... actually first AnDee and Pep played with his balloons for about a half an hour and then we opened presents
(before I start with the pics I need to explain to you that our son is completely obsessed with his Aunt (aka grandma) Gayle. Seriously... nothing or no one holds a candle to this women. He wouldn't do anything without her. He wouldn't open presents with dad or even eat his cake without holding her hand. So anytime you see someones hand in the corner of the pic... its because he refused to let go.)

Dad tried to coax him away from Gayle to open presents...

 It didn't last long...
And as was expect, Buggy actually did most of the present opening for him... What a good sister.

this kid lives for cars. Seriously... it so odd how much he loves cars... or anything with wheels I suppose.
Apparently the seat is a little slippery and he is too short to touch the ground so we find him like this quite often...

Next we broke out the cake

 Sharing with Gayle...

and then it was back to the balloons and the car.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PEP BOY!!!!

Easter 2012

Oh Easter.... why must you taste so good? Seriously... do you eat ANYTHING that isn't packed with sugar during the easter season? I don't.
This year, in stead of dying our eggs the traditional way we tried the whole silk dying thing. AWESOME. For little kids I couldn't think of a better way to do it. AnDee got to help wrap them up, and put them in the pot. Then after her nap she got to open them all up and see what she made! It was like a bunch of little egg sized presents and the best part? No mess. Plus they look super cool. What more could you ask for?

On Saturday we had an Easter egg hunt at Nanny and Poppy's with the Cowley cousins. Pep of course found one egg and sat happily and played with it for a good 15 minutes. AnDee was an egg hunting machine and scored a fair amount of sugar filled eggs. Then the cousins teamed up to help Pep fill the rest of his basket. We ate hot dogs and potato salad and just played. Playing with her cousins is like heaven to my daughter. I was flying solo that day since Andrew was out hunting bear but as usual my siblings and parents stepped up and helped me out. Thank you all

This little lady is the newest addition to the Cowley family. Baby Grace... So tiny... SO cute!

Next on the list of things to blog... My attempt at making Easter outfits for my children. I took a bunch of different ideas I found on Pinterest and just blended them and added a few of my own ideas and this is what came out of it...

sometimes my children make some... interesting faces while taking pictures. Ok so its not just while taking pictures.
Anywho... that was our weekend! Fun stuff!

We love SUN!

Last weekend was wonderful. We rode horses (Peps first time) and four wheelers. We flew kites and dug up a million worms to feed to the chickens. (AnDee now has one chicken that follows her around the yard, will eat out of her hands and will let her pet it. She's pretty much like the chicken whisperer) and BBQ'ed. SO MUCH FUN.  And we all came home with sun burns. Which was brown the next day for some of us (Me and Pep) and is STILL red for others (Dad and Buggy)

Below are a couple of shots of Peps new hobby. He throws anything and everything he can find on the floor, in with the cheep cheeps. I have found all sort of treasures in there. He has a new word "hi!" and he is getting more teeth.... boo.
